PEOPLE WHO CORRECTLY PUT YOU IN CHECK

So you’re strolling through life, living as you see fit. What you’re doing may or may not be the “right” thing to do, but who cares. You’re in your 20’s and someone’s tweet this morning told you to carpe diem. So you’re doing it. Carefree and doing it all over the damn place. Then you have a conversation about life with someone and they comment on this thing you’re doing. You all of a sudden feel like absolute crap about it because you’re obviously stupid for even thinking this was the correct way to go about life in the first place. You eject yourself from the conversation and reflect in a puddle of negative thoughts. Now you’re lost. What the f*ck do you do now?

Let’s rewind. So you’re strolling through life, living as you see fit. What you’re doing may or may not be the “right” thing to do, but who cares. You’re in your 20’s and someone’s tweet this morning told you YOLO is the motto. So you’re doing it. Then you have a conversation with someone that questions your reasoning. You hesitantly reply because, wait - what you’re doing so carefreely all of a sudden seems…wrong.  So its not something you want to throw in a toast at a New Years Eve party, but you’re not Satan. You realize now that you could be doing better, thats all. You delve into the conversation discussing options for betterment. You’re smiling! You feel better already.

Two types of people — An ode to the latter.

Everyone deserves to get checked once in a while. Appreciate those that do it with their hearts and not just their mouths. Value those that take the time out to actually evaluate your situation versus passing judgement on your actions. Recognize that not everyone has someone to share positive insight with them. Keep them around as long as possible. Positivity breeds positivity.
